Electrical Design Engineer
Avenue is currently looking to resource an Electrical Design Engineer for a leading power conversion company
Overall Purpose
To specify, design and document packaged products such as LV/MV Switchgear, LV/MV drives and filters
To work as part of a multi-skilled team, taking full technical responsibility for small/medium designs
Main Responsibilities
" Specify, design and document packaged products such as LV/MV Switchgear, LV/MV drives and filters. Including electrical design, selection of components, cubicle layout/packaging, where applicable.
" Responsibility for estimating and planning of work to ensure budgets and timescales are met ( within engineering).
" Application or development of engineering standards.
" Working within a multi-skilled team of engineers, draughtsmen, technicians and/or test engineers.
" Liaison with other Converteam units, customers, suppliers and sub-contractors.
" Specification, design or use of computer simulation and calculation tools.
" Occasional working away from the office to support tenders, customer meetings, acceptance tests and commissioning.
" Provision of technical advice and assistance to tendering, development and service teams.
" Prepare complete BOM into the company MRP system
Qualifications / Skills / Experience
Degree Electrical and Electronic Engineering and one to two years experience or training in an engineering design, manufacturing, testing or research environment is essential
The following experience is desireable:
" Experience of MRPII/SAP
" Experience of IGBT or thyristor based drives, MV Switchgear, Filters
" Knowledge of drives control systems
" Real time, PLC or simulation programming
